Douglas J. Hedley
Portfolio Manager, Co-CEO
Doug has 34 years of experience in the financial industry, working through multiple market environments. He brings an invaluable perspective on how to successfully construct and manage portfolios.
He is a firm believer that an investment management process must be disciplined and repeatable. He established these characteristics as two of the firm’s key philosophical principles.
Doug is a critical thinker whose passion is researching and analyzing data to spot opportunities that others would often overlook. Over the course of his career, he has built proprietary technical models for trading equity index futures, energy, and currency markets. These combined skills have led to his success as an asset allocator and give him the ability to manage investment portfolios without subjectivity or emotion.
Prior to Paritas, Doug was responsible for client portfolios totaling more than $1.3 billion in assets for a boutique wealth management firm, Fieldpoint Private. Earlier in his career, Doug worked for leading wealth advisory firms such as E.F. Hutton, UBS, Smith Barney, and Citigroup.
Michael J. Pakula
Portfolio Manager, Co-CEO
Mike’s unique background in both Finance and Computer Science, in concert with Doug’s long-term industry experience, enables him to design repeatable and disciplined portfolio models.
Mike has a passion for data science and possesses the ability to bifurcate large data sets into actionable information, a foundational element of Paritas’ portfolio management process. He is an outcome-focused problem solver with a desire to find elegant, yet simple solutions.
In addition, Mike brings in-depth knowledge and expertise in portfolio analytics, performance reporting, investment operations, and systems integration, which helps to maximize the productivity of the team, and ultimately deliver an exceptional client experience.
Prior to Paritas, Mike was the Head of Analytics and Tools at Park Avenue Securities where he worked in partnership with the firm’s business development team and more than 2,800 Financial Advisors to identify investment opportunities that would benefit their client’s portfolios. Earlier in his career, Mike worked at Fieldpoint Private where he contributed to the development of a portfolio management and financial planning application platform.
Mike holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Corporate Finance and Accounting from Bentley University. Additionally, he attended Cal Poly San Luis Obispo as a computer science major which has given him a strong skill set in various financial programming areas. He currently lives in Stamford, Connecticut with his wife.
Peter J. Myers, CPA
Chief Compliance Officer/Chief Financial Officer
Pete is responsible for all aspects of compliance and risk management as well as financial operations including: ADV updates, regulatory reporting, registrations, personal trading, firm policies, procedures, manuals, and marketing review.
Pete has drawn upon 25 years of experience to create Paritas’ robust compliance culture and framework. Additionally, his priority is to ensure the team at Paritas is one that operates to the highest ethical standards. He is detail oriented and firmly believes that organization, reliability, and discipline are paramount to success.
Prior to Paritas, Pete served in various financial and compliance roles at Two Sigma Investments, Tudor Investment Corporation, Senzar Asset Management, and CIBC World Markets. Pete began his career at Ernst & Young where he audited hedge funds and broker dealers.
Head of Business Development
J.W. joined Paritas in June of 2017, bringing over 15 years of business development, relationship management, and client service experience within the investment management industry.
His expertise in these key areas enables him to build long-lasting relationships and provide a concierge level of service to Paritas’ clients. In addition, he oversees our marketing and social media efforts, ensuring information is provided to Paritas’ advisor network in a clear and timely manner.
Prior to joining Paritas, J.W. was with Breckinridge Capital Advisors for over 10 years, most recently as Vice President, Key Accounts Manager on their Consultant Relations team. In this role, his responsibilities included developing and serving key relationships totaling approximately $10 billion in AUM. He began his career in the Boston office of Brown Brothers Harriman.
J.W. is an active supporter of the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, currently serving on the Basic Science Visiting Committee and Co-Chair of the Leadership Council Annual Giving Committee.
J.W. is a 2001 graduate from Gettysburg College where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics with a concentration in Japanese Studies. He holds a NASD Series 65 license. J.W. currently resides in Boston.
